Mission

The project’s goal was to extend the digital NFT experience into tangible, real-world merchandise by creating a series of print designs that capture the essence of the brand’s fun, laid-back vibe. The challenge was to translate the digital, pixel-art style of the NFTs into eye-catching physical prints that would appeal both to NFT collectors and a broader audience of casual beer lovers.

Process

The design process began with deep immersion into the Friday Beers NFT collection to understand its visual language and community culture. The NFTs feature pixelated characters often depicted with beer cans, casual outfits, and humorous expressions, all set against bold, colorful backgrounds. We decided to maintain this pixel-art aesthetic for brand consistency, while also exploring variations in layout and color schemes that would work effectively in print. Sketches and mood boards were created to experiment with combining pixel art with typography, catchy slogans, and beer-related motifs such as hops, bottles, and foamy mugs.

Print

Once final designs were approved, the production phase focused on technical adaptation for various print formats. The pixel art style required high-resolution vectorization to maintain crisp edges and avoid pixel blur during scaling. The print team worked closely with manufacturers to select appropriate substrates and inks, ensuring vibrant color reproduction and durability, especially for apparel and stickers that would face wear and tear.

Conclusion

This project demonstrated the potential for NFT brands to expand beyond digital-only experiences by thoughtfully integrating print design that honors the original art style and community ethos. The Friday Beers print designs successfully amplified the playful, inclusive spirit of the brand, proving that pixel art and craft beer culture could combine into an appealing physical product line.
